This concert took place in the beautiful environment of MUSIKSTUDIO UND GALERIE: GABRIELE PAQUÉ. Johannes Paqué writes ...
Dear Friends of music and nature,
On May 4, 2018, an event of the event series CLIMATEKEYS took place in the music studio. Guests were the young pianist Robbin Reža and the climate change expert and CEO of Mission 2020 Andrew Higham. Anyone who has looked at Robbin’s program knows in advance that it had to be an exciting concert.
Ondine from Gaspard de la Nuit by Maurice Ravel is considered to be one of the more difficult pieces on the piano and Robbin knew with technical elegance and musical empathy how to skillfully depict the Undine and her habitat, the water. Also the Scheherazade by Karol Szymanowski convinced with its complexity and Robbin’s impeccable performance with the play of dissonances and melodic elements. Both pieces were performed on the Pleyel grand piano from 1937, which is very well suited for modern compositions in its timbre.
Robbin performed the remaining pieces on the Kaps grand piano from 1875, which has an Érard mechanism and is designed to be warmer in its sound than modern instruments. With Franz Schubert Robbin went back a step in the history of music to the Romanticism and presented us the Moderato from the Piano Sonata in A minor D845.
This was followed by the lecture by climate change expert Andrew Higham. The first topic was the various areas that need to be addressed in climate change, such as CO2 pollution from exhaust fumes and industry, but also the economics of renewable energies and much more. He then asked the audience to talk chat with their respective neighbor and talk about what he or she was concerned with in this regard. Eventually, the audience was asked to talk about their discussions, and Andrew explained many issues that people were concerned about. READ MORE
